You may not have noticed, but Nintendo's in-house games are the titles that are repeatedly selling the system, with the exception of Iguana's Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. At the same time, though, Nintendo develops in-house. Nintendo should let the companies develop themselves. Nintendo has its hands in almost all of the waters, and it's the games that are left untouched that are showing some flair and variety. If anything is to blame for this graphics hangover it would be Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto, himself. These have only some of the same characteristics, while holding their own style.

The color scheme and graphic styles are very much alike the afore-mentioned, but there are enough subtle differences to give each game a unique feel. Turok and Blast-Corps would be excellent examples. Mario, Pilotwings, Waverace, Star Fox 64, Mario Kart), but each does have it's own dramatic flair. All-in-all I am very pleased with the wonderful graphics in N64 games and if they look similar so be it. Next-Generation (no offense) made a point of this in its issue about N64 breaking up, but to tell you the truth I think the texture-maps in SOTE make it somewhat easy to lose your way, therefore adding to the toughness.

For one, why should anybody care when the titles look so beautiful and two, I, myself do not really notice the "limited texture-maps" that have received a lot of criticism. The texture-maps add the N64 look to games, and it's not only the beautiful graphics, but the familiar look that make N64 games even more distinguishable.

For instance, Doraemon and Mario, but I like this look.
